Don't pay percentages of your project, and never pay per transaction.
Most service providers take percentages per project and a fixed fee per transaction. Thus, you make them wealthy, and you lose your money, which could end up in your account for your project.
If you are trying to raise a £1000 for your project, you'll end up paying about 2,5%-3% for the project and about £0,25-£0.30 per transaction. Suppose you have 25 backers, that is £6,25-£7,50 and £25-£30. You'll have to pay around £31-£37 for your project.
